Newsletter Spring 2008
Although most people are glad to see the spring finally arrive, at Evergreen we are saying goodbye to a good winter season. We certainly can’t complain about snow this year as we had more than our fair share.
Let me share a couple of highlights from the winter season. With the snow came the snowmobiles and skiers. It was nice to see them all back this year. The annual get together “Sober-in-the-snow” was here again. This weekend was a big success and brought in extra money for the Inn.
On the down side when the snow fell from the roof it took some of our windows with it. We lost twenty five lower windows and a three of the larger ones. These will now have to be replaced. As we head into Spring and Summer we start thinking of all the work that must be done to keep our momentum of continuous improvement going. This year we are going to jump to current technology by offering internet service for members that want to keep in-touch with work, home or just surf the net. Meagan is hard at work planning the system setup. This should be in place in early June. Other planned improvements are additional furniture, drapes, and decorating, new lamps in each room along with new blankets and sheets in every unit. New outdoor furniture for the front porch,
Please keep May 31 open on your calendar as a special day as this is when we will be holding our annual General Meeting which will start at 1:00pm. Following the general meeting will be a Directors Meeting. I would like to comment to see more attendance at our meetings as lately that many owners or directors have not been present. The annual meeting is when we encourage our owners tobe proactive and discuss with us any concerns or give the team support.
If you cannot attend please remember to send back your proxy as soon as possible so it arrives before May 25th. This is very important as your team needs your support.
Once again this year we will be having a work weekend along with the General meeting. We hope that you will stay and lend a helping hand to spruce up the place. We have several large projects on the planning list such as fixing the side deck. We also plan spring yard work, painting, staining and of course the dreaded wall paper removal project. Scott Allocca and Don Bodwell will be fixing the decks at the condos either before or after this weekend.
On another note, I know a lot of you are wondering about the Bahre sale. still no sale. But as usual there are still buyers looking. We met with the latest group last month but there was little information that they could provide for us. We will discuss this more at the meeting.
I would like to mention what a wonderful job that Megan, Martha, Linda, Kenny, Alta and all of our other employees have been doing to keep Evergreen running smoothly and efficiently. Your team has also been hard at work in the background trying to move forward and accomplish some more improvements within a limited budget as usual.
I would like to take a moment to mention that Evergreen will be open again this year for Thanksgiving, it is a beautiful time at Evergreen so please remember to take advantage of this holiday time at Evergreen.
On behalf of the Management Team and Staff at Evergreen, we hope that we will see you at the meeting. Bring your rake and hammer with you!
